This sacred occasion commemorates the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his beloved son at Allah’s command. Instead, the practice evolved over centuries, often misunderstood and misinterpreted by followers.
By aligning contemporary practices with the holy scriptures, we uncover the true meaning of Eid Al Adha—a celebration of faith, compassion, and the spiritual connection to Allah, devoid of the misconceptions that have taken root over time. This article sheds light on these insights, encouraging a return to the festival’s authentic spiritual essence.
Why Is Eid al-Adha (Eid Al-Adha 2024) Celebrated?
It is said that this day is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifice of the Prophet of Muslims and ancestor of Hazrat Mohammad, Hazrat Ibrahim. Allah tested him and demanded Hazrat Ibrahim to sacrifice his most valuable thing ― his beloved son.

Hazrat Ibrahim Ji obeyed Allah and decided to sacrifice his son Hazrat Ismail. When Hazrat Ibrahim was going to sacrifice his son, Allah placed a goat in place of his son. And, in this way, Ibrahim succeeded in his test. In commemoration of this day, Muslims celebrate the day as Bakra Eid.
Meaning of Eid al Adha
Eid is an Arabic word that means “Festival” and “Adha” means “Sacrifice”. That’s why this festival is called the festival of sacrifice. The day of Eid Al-Adha is counted as a special day for Muslims all over the world.
Eid ul Adha 2024 (Eid al Adha): Sacrifice Was Not Done by Hazarat Muhammad
Muslims perform animal sacrifice based on Islamic teachings. It is important to note that these teachings are derived from interpretations made by Muslim scholars and not directly from Allah. Allah never orders the sacrifice of an animal. In fact, Prophet Muhammad or his 180,000 thousand direct disciples never killed any animal. They were purely vegetarian. This arbitrary practice of slaughtering has been propagated by ignorant Muslim Clerics.
Prophet Muhammad never ate meat or slaughtered animal. Kabir Saheb has mentioned in His sacred speech –
Nabi Muhammad namaskar hai, Ram rasool kahaya |
Ek laakh assi kun sougandh, Jin nahi karad chalaya |
Aras kurus par Allah Takhat hai, Khalik bin nahi khaali |
We paigambar pakh purush the, Sahib ke abdali | |
Kabir Saheb says that Hazrat Muhammad was a kind-hearted pious soul of Allah. He was recognized as one of the messengers of Kaal Brahm (whom we consider as Nabi). Along with him, his one lakh eighty disciples never killed any animal. These all were pure and loving souls of Allah.

Above mentioned lines prove that Prophet Muhammad never ate meat nor his 180,000 direct disciples. Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj tells that this tradition of slaughtering animals and eating meat was started by Muslim Clerics. The story is as follows:
Origin of Slaughtering Animals in Islam
Hazrat Muhammad once killed a goat by Word Power and then restored it back to life. Some people believed that; others did not. They asked him to do it in front of all of them. A day was decided for this. On that day, Prophet Muhammad killed a cow in front of the audience by Word Power. They checked the cow. It was dead.

Then, when it came to resurrecting it, Prophet Muhammad lost his Word Power that he had acquired from Allah Kabir Ji (Allah Kabir Ji had met Muhammad Ji in a Jinda Baba attire and had taken him to Satlok but Hazrat Muhammad did not accept His Knowledge because of the fear of the Angel Jibril and his honor. Because of being accompanied by God Kabir Ji, he temporarily acquired some Power of God, which finished after killing the cow).
Prophet Muhammad could not revive the dead cow. Then, he bowed down and remembered Allah Kabir Ji, chanting, “Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar.” Allah Kabir Ji came there. Only Prophet Muhammad could see Him. He revived the dead cow and disappeared.
The above story is also depicted in the God Kabir ji speech-
Maari gau shabad ke teeram, Ese the muhammad piram |
Shabdai fir jiwai, Hansa raakhya maans nahin bhaakhya, Ese pir muhammad bhaai |
Saint Garib Das Ji has written this incident in his Vaani as,
Jab Hamou mohmad yaad kiya re| Shabd Swaroopi Hum beg gayo re||
Mui gau Hum tatkaal jivai| Jab mohamad ke nishchay aayi||
Tum Kabir Alah Darvesha| Momin Muhammad ka gaya andesha||
Meaning: After Allah Kabir Ji restored the dead cow back to life, Prophet Muhammad realized that in reality, Allah is Kabir who met him in the Jinda Baba attire.
Then, a couple of centuries after the death of Prophet Muhammad and his 180 thousand direct disciples, some Muslim Clerics, inspired by Satan (Kaal), decided to make some celebration in order to keep remembering both the occasions when Prophet Muhammad revived a dead cow and a dead goat. They decided to kill the animals by Halal on both days.
Eating Meat is a Sin
They were still so compassionate that they made the rule to cut the animal gently (Halal) so that it didn’t feel pain and, then, threw the dead animal in the jungle so that other animals could bless the soul of that dead animal by eating its meat. No Muslim used to eat meat. It was considered a sin then. The same happened for a few centuries.
Then a severe famine occurred, and some Muslims ate the meat of the killed animal. Other Muslims complained about that with their Clerics. Thousands of such complaints were made. The Clerics thought that it would not be wise to condemn thousands of Muslims to death. They found an alternative and announced:
“Because of reading Kalama while killing the animal, its meat became sacred food. Therefore, they did not commit sin.”
The same incident happened on the second Eid. This way, the tradition of slaughtering of animals and eating meat started in Islam. When it was started, they had some different purpose (Even then it is a sin though). Today’s Muslims eat meat just because of the taste of the tongue. That’s a grave sin.

Do Animals Feel Pain When Slaughtered (Halal)?
Yes, the animals do feel immense pain while being slaughtered. They cry out in their pain. But, the ignorant Muslim religious leaders made Muslims so pitiless that they do not see its pain. Some of the Muslims even doubt that the animal they are cutting has a soul or not. Supreme God Kabir Ji used to give lessons on being compassionate towards other beings to both Hindus and Muslims.
Because Hindus used to say that they cut the animal with Jhatka (instant killing) method, thus, they do not let the animal feel the pain of killing, and hence, they do not incur sin. While, Muslims used to say that they kill the animal with Halal method in which they cut the animal so gently that it doesn’t feel pain, and thus, they do not incur sin. Supreme God Kabir Ji used to say to both of them,
“If you truly believe that the animal doesn’t feel the pain by your method of killing and thus you don’t incur sin, then get yourself cut the way you prefer. Then, see who feels pain and who doesn’t.”
None of the religious leaders used to come forward.
Hindu jhatke maarhi, Or Muslim kare halal|
Gareebdas dahu deen ka, Vahan hoga haal behaal||
Meaning: God Kabir Ji used to say to both of them that Hindus kill with Jhatka and Muslims kill with Halal. Both of them will suffer extremely in the Court of God. Therefore, quit all these vices right now. This killing and meat-eating tradition was started by Satan (Kaal). Don’t get misled by your ignorant religious leaders.
