23 September 2023 IST | On September 26, 2023, every year, International Daughters Day is observed. Every year on the last Sunday of September, a special day for daughters is seen. This is a unique day that commemorates the birth of a girl and is observed around the world to eradicate the stigma associated with having a girl child by honoring daughters. Daughters have fewer privileges in this patriarchal society than sons. Daughters are an important element of any family, acting as a glue, a caring force that holds the family together.

International Daughters Day: Highlights

  • International Daughters Day is observed on the fourth Sunday of September every year.
  • International Daughters Day initially originated in India.
  • International Daughters Day is observed to eliminate the differences between a son and a daughter.
  • Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj teaches that there is no difference between a son and a daughter.
  • Every Living soul is the son and daughter of Almighty God Kabir.

International Daughters Day Origin & History

Daughters are symbols of unconditional love and selflessness. People all across the world commemorate this day by sharing presents and making their daughters feel special through special gestures. The tradition began in India, where certain societies still see girl children as burdens. Families with daughters are stigmatized.

The celebration aids in the abolition of customs that contribute to the perception of a girl child as a burden. These practices are still practiced in several developing countries. Though the situation is increasingly improving in some cities, women are still regarded as a burden. As a result, this day is marked to honor our girls and to teach them that they have equal rights and opportunities in the world.

On the other hand, the rest of the globe may regard the day as a traditional holiday. While families may view the day as an occasion to express gratitude for the life of a girl child, girls may view the day differently. They may utilize the opportunity to rejoice in the fact that she is a daughter and that she has a family. Many people spend the day with their families and look forward to making memories with their loved ones.

International Daughters Day Significance

Our daughters, like the holidays, have a wide range of personalities. While one is daring and caring, the other will outwit us in a split second. They quickly capture our hearts. Our instincts may tell us to keep children safe. They are, nevertheless, more likely to protect us just as strongly. Daughters, like every other individual in the world, deserve to develop, learn, and explore.

In countries like India, this day is a significant step towards eliminating crimes like gender discrimination, dowry, foeticide, rape, etc against the daughters of the society. This day marks the importance of daughters in society and reminds everyone that daughters are equal to sons and are as crucial as them for society.

There Is no Difference Between a Daughter and a Son: Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj

Children are a blessing for parents, whether a daughter or a son. Guardians should not discriminate between them, as there is no difference between them. Children are considered to be obtained by the blessing of God. Every living soul is the son and daughter of the creator God, who does not discriminate between anyone.

True Spiritual knowledge given by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj teaches us not to discriminate between our children and to treat them as the children of Almighty God Kabir Himself.

We Are the Sons and Daughters of Almighty God Kabir

Almighty God Kabir is the creator of every living soul that exists. We all are His children. He loves us a hundred times more than our father or mother does. He is our real father that can provide us supreme peace and happiness. This Daughters day, everyone must read the sacred book “Way Of Living” written by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj and should know about our real duty as sons and daughters of the Supreme God. If everyone follows the path shown by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj, then the difference between Daughter and Son can be eliminated forever from society.
