Globally, about 2 billion people use the English language as a medium to express thoughts, feelings and ideas.This language has official recognition in around 75 nations. In the United Nations, it is celebrated on 23rd April. In 2010, an initiative was taken by the department of Global communications of establishing languages day for six official languages.  The aim behind this is to observe social and cultural diversity to promote equal use of all official languages throughout the organization.

Origin of English Language

The English language was first spoken in the origins of medieval England and its name was taken from angles. After some time, angels who were a west germanic tribe found their way to England.
