Brief Information About Dussehra

Dussehra 2023 (Vijayadashami): The festival Dussehra symbolizes the triumph of good over evil to the Hindu devotees. This festival is celebrated all over India, Nepal, and wherever there is Hindu community. According to the Ramayan, on this day the Hindu god Shri Ram killed the evil King Ravan of Sri Lanka who had abducted his wife. This is celebrated as a victory over Ravan by Lord Shri Ramchandra. The festival traditionally represents the legend of Lord Ram and King Ravan (Ramayan)

When Is Dussehra in 2023?

This year Dussehra will be celebrated on October 24, 2023 the Wednesday. But the religious practices done on this day are opposite to our religious texts so they can’t yield any benefits.

Legend From Ramayana About Dussehra 2023 (Vijayadashami)

Ravan, the demon king of Lanka (Sri Lanka), abducted the beloved wife of Ram, Sita. Shri Ramchandra rescued his wife Sita. Proving victory by killing the powerful and evil king Ravan.

The Dussehra festival is 10 days long. Culminating on the 10th day, Dussehra is celebrated. It also happens to be a holiday. On the day of Dussehra, large wooden effigies filled with dried grass and wrapped by paper of Ravan and his brother Kumbhkaran, and son Meghnath are burnt.

Durga & Mahishasur Battle Legend of Dussehra 2023 (Vijayadashami) and Navratri

Also known as Dashain or Tenth day of Navratri or Durga utsav, Vijaya Dashmi commemorates the day that Durga appeared riding a lion to slay the demon Mahishasura.

The festival is associated with the prominent battle that took place between goddess Durga and demon Mahishasura and is celebrated as the victory of good over evil by the Hindu community. These nine days are solely dedicated to goddess Durga and her nine Avatars, the Navadurga, by Hindus. The Supreme God is, however, someone else other than Durga as well.

This is clarified in Shri Devi Puran 7th Skandh where Durga Devi Ji is asking King Himalaya to, leaving everything else, only worship Brahm whose Mantra is “OM”. In Geeta Ji 8:13, the Knowledge-Giver of Geeta Kaal Brahm is saying that His Mantra is “OM” but the salvation attained from his worship is written “Anuttamam”, i.e., very bad in 7:18. So, he asks Arjuna to worship another Supreme God for attaining Supreme Peace in 18:66 and 18:62 whose Mantra is written “Om-Tat-Sat” (this is coded Mantra, not actual) in 17:23 and His way of worship and true knowledge is written to be asked from Tatvadarshi Saint in 4:34. Brief but True Story of Ramayana

In all the four yugas Supreme GOD KABIR Sahib comes with different names. And change the course of history as He wants, So that His beloved souls could easily recognize Him. Read in detail about Ramayan Story in Hindi.

In Tretayuga Supreme GOD KABIR Sahib Has Come as Rishi Munindra

In Tretayuga, two cousin brothers named Nal and Neel were living a bad life. They were mentally and physically ill (which comes under Teen Taap) and all the sages of that time had told Nal Neel that this pain won’t go away as it is written in their destiny, that they have to live with this burden, and they cannot do anything. But, Nal and Neel never gave up hope that one day a saint might come and cure them. This wish was granted when they came to the Refuge of Sage Munindra. He blessed Nal and Neel and all their pains went away.

Who Built Ram Setu Bridge?

Nal and Neel were overjoyed. They started to do Seva in the Ashram of Sage Munindra where they would take the clothes and utensils for cleaning on the river but because of prolonged illness their mental stability had weakened and they would forget to bring back few of these items which would sink away, so Sage Munindra granted a boon that whatever thing Nal, Neel would place on water will not sink, be it a stone or a metal utensil.

However, on the day Ram Setu was to be built, Nal-Neel didn’t remember their Gurudev out of the craving for praise. Because of which, the Blessing given by their Gurudev finished, and no stone floated on the water by their hands thereafter. Then, realizing their mistake, both of them remembered their Gurudev Rishi Munindra. Then, it was only with the help of Rishi Munindra ji that Shri Ramachandra was able to create the bridge to Sri Lanka.

Rishi Munindra Took Mandodari in His Refuge

It was Sage Munindra who gave initiation to Chandra Vijay Bhath and his family and then to Mandodari, the wife of Ravan and to Ravan’s younger brother Vibhishan. After listening to Sage Munindra’s spiritual Sermons and taking initiation from Him, Mandodari started to plead in front of Ravan to let go of Sita, and mend his ways, but Ravan was a very egoistic person for whom, beyond Lord shiva there was no one else.

Ravan Didn’t Listen to Sage Munindra, Hence, Suffered

On the request of Mandodari, Sage Munindra agreed to talk to Ravan once and reached the front gate of his Raj Sabha but the guards did not allow Sage Munindra any further as they were ordered to disallow anyone to enter the Raj Sabha as there was a top secret meeting going on. Sage Munindra simply vanished right from the front Gates and reappeared inside the Raj Sabha of Ravan. When Ravan saw Sage Munindra coming in, he was full of rage and anger that whoever has allowed this Sage in will lose his head.

But Sage Munindra stopped Ravan right then, stating that it was not the fault of gatekeepers but He can go anywhere anytime without anyone’s permission and Ravan should release Sita and ask forgiveness from Ramchandra. On hearing these words Ravan jumped from his throne filled with rage and anger. He took the sword out and attacked Sage Munindra with all his might. Sage Munindra was merely holding a single broomstick in His Hand on which fell all the attacks of Ravan, and Ravan got exhausted but because of his egocentric nature, he did not listen to Sage Munindra’s advice and paid the ultimate price with his life.

Ravana was Killed by the Supreme God

Ravana was so elusive that killing him was not an easy task and Shri Ram also started giving up. Every time Shri Ram used to cut off the head of Ravana with his arrow, another head would emerge again at that place.

When Vibhishan told Rama that aim at its navel, there lies the nectar. But Shri Ram was not able to target that too and being very sad, he remembered Supreme God, hearing Ram’s call, God himself came in a subtle form and shot an arrow in the navel of Ravan. After killing Ravan, Ram bowed down to the Supreme God. That’s how Ravan was Killed.

Is Ram the True GOD?

Hindu consider Shri Ramchandra as God and worship him. However, Shri Ramchandra is not the complete GOD. He is in the cycle of birth and death. He too has to endure the sufferings he is destined for. He took birth from a mother’s womb. Holy Rigveda clearly mentions that the Supreme GOD never takes birth from a mother’s womb. HE does not fall in the cycle of birth and death as HE is Eternal. Only by understanding the true way of worship as guided by a truly enlightened Sage, one can Identify the Real Supreme Ram and attain salvation .

Who Is a True Sage?

A true Sage is the one who can explain all the parts of the inverted hanging world-like tree according to the Srimad Bhagwad Gita Verses 15:1-15:4.  Today, only Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj is the One who is imparting the true spiritual knowledge and the true way of worship to attain the Supreme Almighty. To know who the Supreme Almighty is, kindly listen to the spiritual Discourses of Saint Rampal ji Maharaj on Sadhna TV channel from 7:30 pm (IST) onwards.
