National Unity Day: सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) की जयंती 31 अक्टूबर को मनाई जाती है। सरदार वल्लभ भाई ने 562 रियासतों का विलय कर भारत को एक राष्ट्र बनाया था। यही कारण है कि वल्लभ भाई पटेल की जयंती के मौके पर राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस (National Unity Day) मनाया जाता है। पहली बार राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस 2014 में मनाया गया था।

International Day for the Eradication of Poverty: कोरोना काल में भारत में गरीबों की तादाद बहुत अधिक बड़ गई है। कोरोना महामारी के दौरान दुनिया भर में गरीब हुए लोगों में 60 फीसदी भारतीय हैं। एक रिसर्च के मुताबिक बढ़ी बेरोजगारी के चलते भारत के मिडिल क्लास में 3.2 करोड़ लोग कम हुए है और गरीबों की संख्या साढ़े सात करोड़ बढ़ी है। विश्वबैंक ने कहा कोविड-19 के कारण 2021 तक 15 करोड़ लोगों के गरीबी के दलदल में फंसने के आसार बन गये हैं।

World Food Day was first established in November 1979. The idea was suggested by former Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr Pal Romany. Since then, the day has been celebrated by more than 150 countries around the world. It is an initiative by the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations.
