Varalakshmi Vratam 2020: There is written evidence in the Gita and other sacred scriptures that humans should worship only the supreme God Kabir, and should search for a Tatavdarshi Saint. But in today’s world, man is doing arbitrary worship which is really harmful to his own life. Let’s know about the right method of worship. Today is Varalakshmi Vratam, the day is very special for the Hindu people. This day is celebrated with a great desire to get something in return from God.

Many States celebrate Varalakshmi Vratam

Varalakshmi Vratam is a Hindu festival which is celebrated particularly in the states of

  • Karnataka
  • Andhra Pradesh
  • Telangana
  • Tamil Nadu
  • Maharashtra
  • Uttar Pradesh

Why do people celebrate Vratam?

It is celebrated to appease goddess Lakshmi, the wife of Lord Vishnu. On this day, mostly married women keep fast for the well being of their husbands, children, and other family members. It is believed that worshiping the Goddess Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshiping Ashtalakshmi – the eight goddesses of Wealth, Earth, Wisdom, Love, Fame, Peace, Contentment and Strength.

However, nowhere it is mentioned in any Hindu religious holy scriptures (Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, five Vedas as well as other holy books) regarding keeping fast and worshiping Varalakshmi. One cannot get happiness by keeping himself hungry. It is foolishness to pray for the health and well-being of the family by fasting.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 6 Verse 16 says that yog sadhna is not accomplished by fasting (by those who do not consume food); which means, it has been completely prohibited to keep fasts, and excessive eating is also forbidden. To sleep and remain awakened excessively is also a hindrance in the sadhna of a devotee.

What is the Significance of Varalakshmi Vratam

It is believed that those who perform this fast, blessings of Varalakshmi showers on them.
There is a strong myth that those who keep this vratam will get the benefit of materialistic things like food and wealth and they will get rid of diseases and their life would also get increased.

Without Satnaam and without a Complete Guru, the chronic illness of birth-death of a living being can not end. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 6 Verse 5 and 6.

Varalakshmi Vratam Puja

The Varalakshmi Vratam Puja performed after seeking the advice of the priest about various Lagnas. Accordingly then, the devotees of goddess Lakshmi worship her and observe the fast till late night.

What people usually do on this day?

People wake up early on this day and take bath. After this, the idol of goddess Lakshmi is decorated with new clothes, jewellery, kumkum, and flowers. Also, the devotees offer akshat, chandan, kumkum, sindur, to the goddess.

Is it right to worship Goddess Lakshmi alone?

goddess Lakshmi is one among the 33 crore deities, who should not be worshipped but respected. Complete Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, who is also a Tatvadarshi Saint, gives secret mantras to please Lakshmi and her husband Vishnu ji. Only by chanting the right mantra of Laxmi ji, humans can get worldly benefits otherwise.

Is there any Supreme Power above Goddess lakshmi?

The Supreme Power whom we call God in simple words can never be happy by seeing his children refraining themselves from eating. There is only one Supreme God Kabir who has created everything between the earth and the sky. We all are his children including deities of heaven. Deities themselves are in the circle of death and birth and are not immortal, how can they increase the lifespan of their devotees then.

Kabir is Supreme God

Only Kabir Sahib Ji is immortal God and can increase the life span of his devotees who does worship according to the holy scriptures. For this, our scriptures are the evidence.

YoatharvanM PitraM DevbhandhuM BrahspatiM namsaav ch
gachchhaat ।
TvaM vishweshaM janita yathaasaH KavirDevo na dabhaayat
swadhaavaan ।

Atharvaved Kaand no. 4 Anuvaak no.1 Mantra no. 7

In this Mantra, it has been made clear that the name of that God, who has done all the Creation, is Kabir Dev (Supreme God Kabir), who is unchanging, that is, is ‘eternal’ in reality.

■ Rigved Mandal 10 Sukt 90 Mantra 4 which is like:

Tripaadoordhv udaitPurush paadoasyehaabhavtpunh |
Tato vishv navykraamatsaashnaanashne abhi |

This mentions that the Creator of the entire Nature (Kabir Dev), himself appears in three different forms and is seated (Satlok, Alakh lok, Agam lok) in the upper part of his creation. Therefore, it is clear that this Complete God’s supremacy is over everyone ( all other deities).

It is extremely important that one should take the refuge of true Saint to have a blissful life ahead. At present, that True Saint is Sant Rampal ji Maharaj who gives the absolute devotion mentioned in our scriptures to his followers. Fasting and reciting prayers in the shrines is nowhere mentioned in our holy books. So, it is better to leave the way of worshipping which is against our scriptures.
