According to the hindu calendar, his birthdate is on the Dashami (tenth day) of the Krishna Paksha of Falgun. This year (in 2024), his birth date according to the Hindu calendar falls on 4 March.  This Blog will brief us with facts about Maharishi Swami Dayanand Ji and his works, including his book Satyartha Prakash and Arya Samaj. Let’s start with knowing a brief life history of Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji.

Who was Swami Dayanand Saraswati?  

Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati was a spiritual preacher. He was believed to be a great scholar of the Holy Vedas. He was born on the Dashami (tenth day) of the Krishna Paksha of Falgun in 1824 A.D. in Tankara, Gujarat. His childhood name was Moolshankar. It is said that Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati was named Moolshankar because of his faith in Lord Shankar. 

Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti: Due to being born in a Brahmin clan, he knew Devanagari. He had also memorized many Sanskrit Mantras and Shlokas. After the sudden death of his younger sister at the age of 16 and the death of his beloved uncle, his mind was detached from the world. He left home at the age of 21 to seek victory over death and vowed not to get married. He became a disciple to many gurus to achieve the Real Spiritual Knowledge but remained deprived of the true path, and started practicing yoga in the forests.

Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti: Establishment of Arya Samaj

Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji took refuge in 13 gurus in his life and received different types of knowledge from them. Later, he himself started imparting whatever he gained from them. For the path of liberation, he considered his yoga practice the best. Subsequently, he founded Arya Samaj (‘Arya’ means ‘noble’, ‘Samaj’ means ‘society’) in Mumbai on 10 April 1875. The main objective of which was said to be the upliftment of the society.

There are some of the questions that a common person should ask any Guru or spiritual teacher before commencing on the path enlightened by him. Talking about Dayanand Saraswati, let us ask ourselves some of the questions mentioned below:

• It is said that Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati was a scholar of the Vedas and Puranas and the books written by him played an important role in improving society. Is this true? 
• Is the knowledge given by Maharishi Dayanand Ji in the name of Vedas really correct? 
• Can God be attained by the knowledge given by Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji? 

Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti: These are some of the questions that play an important role in human society, but the knowledge of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati on these is nothing but a curse to a civilized society. This is why we are saying that the principles that he was talking about in making an Arya Samaj, he himself did not live up to them. The book Satyarth Prakash written by him is all about ruining a noble society, not uplifting it. Maharishi Dayanand Ji performed sadhana in his life against the holy scriptures.

In verses 23 and 24 of Holy Gita chapter 16, it is clearly stated that a seeker who performs sadhana against the holy scriptures doesn’t get salvaged, i.e., that sadhana is meaningless.

A Little Light Thrown on Knowledge of Dayanand Saraswati Ji by Saint Rampal Ji 

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji through His Satsangs showed what is written in the book Aatm Katha Dayanand Saraswati Ki (Autobiography of Dayanand Saraswati). It is written in that book that when Dayanand Saraswati Ji used to meditate in the forest in search of God, he used to consume cannabis. Later, he started taking tobacco as well. Please think. Is it any sign of nobility to consume cannabis or tobacco? If he himself consumed tobacco, then how can he stop people from consuming it? Was Dayanand Saraswati really building a civilized society? Is there any evidence of consuming cannabis, tobacco, etc. in Vedas and Puranas?

He also used to eat Paan along with all these. And, in the summer season, he used to take 3, 4 mangoes with 1 Ser (approx. 1 Kg) milk. God Kabir says in His Speech that: –

Pratham ann jal sanyam raakhe | 

Yog yugat tab Satguru Bhakhe || 

Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati Jayanti 2024: Even common people should not consume cannabis, tobacco, or Paan. Because it is the cause of the downfall of humanity. Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj revealed that humans who consume cannabis, tobacco etc. can never attain God. Such people incur gross sins. Dayanand Saraswati Swami used to incur such sins. Can he give the right direction to society? And, should people like him be called a Maharishi?

The Truth of the Book Satyarth Prakash Written by Maharishi Dayanand | Satyarth Prakash Controversy 

Maharishi Dayanand ji, the founder of Aryasamaj, has written one more book named Satyartha Prakash (‘Satyarth’ means ‘true meaning’, ‘Prakash’ means ‘light’). This book Satyartha Prakash better be renamed to either Satyanash Prakash (‘Satyanash’ means ‘disaster’) or Jhutharth Prakash (‘Jhutharth’ means ‘false meaning’). In the fourth Samullas (chapter) of that book, he has written such indecent things which are not acceptable in a moral society and it is a sin to even discuss them. But, let’s look at some of them.

 It is written in that book, that— 

• It is “best” to marry a 24 years old girl with a 48 years old man. 
• A family in which any member is suffering from any disease, no one should marry any boy or girl of that family. 
• One should not marry a girl whose eyes are brown. 
• The girls who are named after Durga Mata or rivers should never be married.

Even worse is written in that book, which cannot be written here. Please think. Such things are not acceptable in any community, so how can he be a social reformer? He used to consume cannabis and used to have such thinking, so what kind of social reformer was he?

Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati’s Knowledge Compared to Vedas 

Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati Ji used to say that the knowledge in the Vedas is valid. He had read the sacred four Vedas but still remained untouched about the knowledge of Vedas. Maharishi Dayanand ji has given knowledge to his followers opposite to the Vedas. 

 A few samples to this are-

• Holy Vedas say that God has a visible human-like Body, which is very effulgent in Yajurveda Adhyay 5 Mantras 1, 6, and 8. While, in his book Satyarth Prakash, he is saying that God is formless. 
• Also, Maharishi Dayanand Ji in Satyarth Prakash states that God cannot destroy sins; one has to suffer the karmas of sin. While, Vedas say that the Complete God can destroy even the gravest of sins. The proof of this is in Yajurveda Adhyay 8 Mantra 13 and Rigved Mandala 10 Sukta 161 Mantra 2 and 5, which says the Complete God can destroy any type of sins, can save us from any disease, and can extend our lives for doing Bhakti.

These points prove that Dayanand Saraswati Ji neither had knowledge of Vedas nor did he perform any social reform. He ruined the lives of his millions of followers due to his ignorance. He only knew Sanskrit. Because of which Dayanand Saraswati Ji can only be given the title of a “Shastri”, not a “Maharishi”. Jagat Guru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji exposed the false acts and beliefs of Dayanand Saraswati Ji by publishing articles in a newspaper and disclosing it via His books. Who Is Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj? 

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is the Satguru(one amongst all saints around in an era) who brought a revolution in spiritual knowledge. He revealed the scripture-based spiritual knowledge to the people as given by Supreme God Kabir 600 years ago. He aims at propagating the prime goal of this human life to all the people present around by giving the Right Way of Worship according to the Holy Vedas. 

He is the only saint in the world who has attained God and tells us the way we too can attain Him. Holy Gita Ji Adhyay 17 Sloka 23 instructs three mantras for attaining God, but the way to chant them is not mentioned there. It is disclosed by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj in His True Spiritual Knowledge. In Sloka 34 of Gita Adhyay 4, it is written that prostrate before Tatvdarshi Saints and ask them politely. Then, they will impart the true knowledge of God.

Similarly, in Sloka 1 to 4 of Gita Adhyay 15, the identity of a Tatvdarshi Saint is revealed, and it is written that after finding that Saint, one should search for that Supreme State of the Supreme God and that immortal place Satlok. That Saint with that Complete Knowledge is none other than Satguru Rampal Ji Maharaj, who gives the true worship of God Kabir on the basis of the scriptures of all the religions. Recognize the Saint.
