Qualifying NEET does not guarantee an MBBS seat. Admission depends on the candidate’s score, category, domicile, seat availability, counselling choices and the previous year’s closing ranks. Preparing a counselling strategy is as important as securing a good score.
Counselling Process to Begin for Qualified Candidates
Following the declaration of the results, qualified candidates will participate in the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MBBS and BDS programmes.
Counselling for the remaining state quota seats will be conducted by the respective state counselling authorities.
The NTA said the timely declaration of the result was intended to ensure that the counselling and admission schedule for medical colleges proceeds as planned.
