Today, we are sharing the news update on Maharashtra COVID-19 cases and MOB LYNCHING TRAGEDY happened in Palghar, Maharashtra and Attack on police in Bangaluru for transferring suspected COVID-19 persons to quarantine.

Maharashtra COVID-19 Update

In Maharashtra cases of COVID -19 are increasing rapidly. Maharashtra became the first state who reached the count of 4200 after 552 new cases registered yesterday, 456 cases only from Mumbai. It is solely taken 3 days to reach a count of 3000 to 4000. Along with it, India Corona tally has more than approx.17445 cases and the death toll crossed 517.

DIVISION OF MAHARASHTRA IN ZONES

Maharashtra C.M had proclaimed on yesterday that from Monday Economic activities will be persued. Due to which Maharashtra has been divided into three zones:

  1. Red zone
  2. Orange zone
  3. Green zone

Though economic activities will be only allowed in only Orange and green zones and in a very restricted manner. Nobody will be allowed to cover long distances. This is done to resist the migration of labor class people who are unable to survive on a pittance and unable to pay rents.

Maharashtra COVID-19 Update: Red zone districts Mumbai, Thane, Aurangabad, Pune, Raigarh are included in the ‘Red zone‘ where no respite will be given at all.

Also know about this: Delhi with more than 2000 cases are also not much far behind in the context of most corona cases. After that Gujarat (1743), Rajasthan (1478), Tamil Nadu (1477) are also the reason of concern for India.

MOB LYNCHING TRAGEDY in Palghar, Maharashtra

Three people were beaten to death by villagers in Palghar on suspicion of being thieves. The victims included two sadhus of the Juna Akhada and their driver who were traveling to Surat to attend a funeral. According to reports, they took a diversion since the car was stooped by police due to the lockdown.

When they were passing through a village a crowd surrounded them and started questioning them. They then dragged them out of their car, assaulted them brutally with sticks, rods, and stones. When the police reached the spot, the crowd attacked them and damaged the van and injured some policemen.

MOB LYNCHING TRAGEDY in Palghar: Around 110 people have been arrested, of which 101 have been sent to police custody till 30 April. 9 minors who were involved in the incident have been sent to a juvenile shelter home. The deceased were identified as Chikne Maharaj Kalpavrukshagiri (70), Sushilgiri Maharaj (35), and their car driver Nilesh Telgade (30).

According to reports by IANS, former Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis said on Sunday that the incident which happened in Maharashtra’s Palghar is ‘shocking and inhuman’.

Sakhsi Maharaj also given threatened to Mumbai’s CM Udhav Thakrey to put Rasuka on the culprits otherwise be ready for the consequences from Naga Sadhus.

“It is more disturbing especially when we are going through such tough times,” he said, referring to the lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

News from Padarayanapura, Bengaluru

A ruckus erupted in Padarayanapura allegedly over shifting of suspected COVID-19 persons to quarantine facility by the BBMP officials. Over 100 people gathered on the streets and began breaking the barricades. They were protesting against the officials and even assaulted them after they were asked to be quarantined.

BBMP officials along with the ASHA workers and police were on duty and had gone there to bring 58 persons who were suspected to be COVID-19 positive to be put in quarantine. The residents, however, resorted to violence and vandalized government property demanding the staff carry out the check-up in the same area with the presence of MLA and refused to go to the hospital.

Meeting with CM Yedurappa, Home Minister Bommai said that the officials will make sure the suspects are quarantined. Meanwhile, reacting to the incident, former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that strict action should be taken against the people responsible for the act. In a series of tweets, he said that the act is totally unacceptable.
