New Year – 1 January 2020
January 1st, 2020, the New Year date everyone is waiting for is around the corner. Although every Religion and every country have their own New Year Day according to their cultures, traditions, customs and rituals, like Chinese New Year, the Islamic New Year, the Japanese New Year, Hindu New Year, etc. But January 1st is celebrated as a New Year day worldwide, in all countries according to the Gregorian calendar, the most widely used calendar system today worldwide.
What do you do on Happy New Year 2020?
People around the world eagerly wait for the New Year or Happy New Year, to celebrate it with great excitement with friends and family, to hold parties and spend time together. The day is marked by sending messages and good wishes to loved ones, exchanging gifts, New Year cards, and spending time with family, friends, peers, etc. At one second past midnight on December 31, 2019 people will enter the New Year.
Some are even wishing each other Happy New Year 2020 in Advance, sending happy New Year quotes, pictures, and photos to each other. Others will be spending New Year’s Eve with drinking, dancing, eating meat, getting intoxicated and indulging in every type of evil in pubs and bars.
But that’s not how the first day of the New Year was meant to be spent. Each new day, month and year is a blessing of God and it is given to us for a unique purpose of seeking God and getting salvation. It was not given to be wasted on activities that make us forget the reality of our life and take us away from God.

Why do we celebrate New Years’?
It’s surprising that we celebrate the coming New Year while forgetting that one year of our life has gone and we are going near our death with each passing day. We had lost our precious time and we are not sure what is going to happen in the next moment, whether we would be alive or not the next day, next month.
People who celebrate New Year, wishing each other “HAPPY NEW YEAR” jump and dance, forgetting the sufferings of the gone past year. How happy people feel for entering a New Year while forgetting the bad things that happened in the past 365 days.
- Youths celebrate the New Year’s eve with night outs, parties, drinking, smoking, eating meat, wasting time in pubs, etc.
- Not even thinking for once what we should have done instead. Let’s see what God and Saints have instructed us about it.

■ Meaning:- Supreme God Kabir Saheb Ji said that human life is hard to obtain. Once this body perishes, you will not be able to attain it again, just like a leaf can never be attached to the tree after falling off. And if you do not worship the name of God even after getting this precious life then your life is like a well that does not have water in it. Even that well is also named a well, but its characteristics are not as that of a well. Similarly, if a human does not do worship, he is also called a human but he/she doesn’t have the qualities of a human.

How could we make better use of our life while we are still alive?
