The International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) proposed an international day to celebrate soil in 2002. FAO has supported the formal establishment of WSD as a global awareness-raising platform under the leadership of the Kingdom of Thailand and within the framework of the Global Soil Partnership. In June 2013, the FAO Conference unanimously endorsed World Soil Day and requested that it be officially adopted at the 68th UN General Assembly.

God Ordered Living Beings to Stay Vegetarian
In Holy Bible Genesis 1:29 and 1:30 God has ordered all the living beings including Animals, Birds and others to become vegetarian. God has given seed-bearing plants, trees and fruit yielding seeds to us, which shall be our food. God provided green herbs for everything that creeps on the earth.
