Meaning Summary
Saint Garibdas Ji portrays food (Ann) as a divine presence that nurtures both body and soul. Food brings joy, ends suffering, and pleases even the celestial gods. It is the foundation of spiritual practice, without which even meditation and detachment are hollow. Sharing food with the hungry is the highest form of compassion, lifting one to divine realms. More valuable than jewels, more radiant than light, food surpasses material wealth and even renunciation in spiritual worth. In this hymn, Ann is revered as God Himself—a provider, healer, and the hidden force sustaining all three realms: earth, heaven, and the beyond.
