UGC NET 2024 Admit Card Out: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the admit cards, also known as the exam city slips, for the UGC NET June 2024 examination. Aspirants can now access and download their admit cards from the agency’s official website, ugc.nta.ac.in.

The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) holds significant importance in the academic and research fields in India. Qualifying this crucial examination renders candidates eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges, as well as providing a gateway to receive the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), which offers financial assistance for pursuing a PhD or research. 

The exam ensures a certain standard of teaching and knowledge in higher education by assessing the candidate’s subject expertise and aptitude for teaching and research.

  • Click on the “UGC NET June 2024 Exam City Slip” link.
  • On the login page, enter your application number and date of birth as instructed.
  • Click “Submit.”
  • Your UGC NET June 2024 exam city slip will be displayed.
  • Download and print the admit card for future reference.

UGC NET Exam pattern consists of two papers namely Paper -1 and Paper -2 .

  • Paper -1:- It is common for all. Moreover, it will be of 100 Marks.
  • Paper -2:- It is based on a particular subject that the candidate selects. It will have 200 Marks.

Both will have 150 MCQ’s each. For the marking scheme of the exam, it will have no Negative Marking. And the medium of exam will be both in English and Hindi language

As per the new update on scores, University Grants Commission issued a notice in which it stated clearly about the way of scoring. It was mentioned that the Net scores can be used for taking admission in PhD. This will be applicable for the June 2024 session. 

As per this notice, candidates will be divided into three kind of categories:

Category 1:- 

The candidate will be eligible for admission in PhD with JRF and for appointment as assistant professor.

Category 2:- 

The candidate will be eligible for admission in PhD without JRF and for appointment as assistant professor.

Category 3:- 

The candidate will be eligible for admission in PhD programmes only.

As every competitive exam has the set criteria, similarly UGC NET Exam has its eligibility criteria. As per the conditions, the candidate must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent with minimum 55%marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates).

In addition to this, the age limit is 30 for Junior Research Fellowship. But, there is no age limit for Assistant Professor.

In order to appear in the exam, the University Grants Commission gave instructions to the candidates which are

  • Candidates must carry their UGC NET hall ticket with them otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
  • Candidates are advised to reach the examination center one hour before the exam starts.
  • Candidates must not bring any electronic gadgets such as calculators, mobile phones, bluetooth etc.
  • Candidates must bring important documents with them particularly UGC NET Admit Card, valid photo identity proof.
