PM Modi on Sunday, January 17 via video-conferencing flagged off 8 trains from prominent spots in several states of the nation to the Statue of Unity in Gujarat’s Kevadiya. These 8 trains will connect Varanasi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Pratapnagar, Rewa, and Chennai to Kevadiya. PM said when the recommendation to convert Kevadiya into a global tourist spot was illustrated, most people thought it was a conceivable task in a quick period, but in just a few years, the tourist spot has ensued as a complete family package.
Statue of Unity Kevadiya Connected Widely by Rail: Highlights

Inauguration at Statue of Unity, Kevadiya Railway Building
During the procedure, various other undertakings relating to the railways were also inaugurated and these include new station buildings of Dabhoi, Kevadiya, and Chandod. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 8 trains attaching Kevadiya in Gujarat to Dadar, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Rewa, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Chennai, and Pratapnagar.
Dabhoi-Kevadiya-Chandod consists of a 50 Km electrified segment. Rightwards arrow Kevadiya-Pratapnagar section constitutes 80 Km of the electrified segment. Rightwards arrow Vistadome coaches for scenic journeys are also included. Inauguration of Kevadiya to Chandod New Broad Gauge Rail line along with Chandod to Dabhoi Converted BG Rail line and Right-pointing triangle Pratapnagar to Kevadiya electrified segment.

‘This is possibly for the first time in the history of railways that so many trains from various localities of the country get flagged off to the same spot,’ PM Modi said.
‘This connectivity will be helpful for tourists appearing to see the Statue of Unity. It will also enhance the livelihoods of the tribal population of Kevadiya. It will give rise to new vacancies for jobs and self-employment,’ said PM Narendra Modi. ‘ 1 lakh tourists will visit Kevadiya in Gujarat every day after development in connectivity,’ PM added.

‘One of the trains flagged off for Kevadia today arises at Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MG Ramachandran Central Railway Station. It is a delightful coexistence that today is the birth anniversary of MGR. His life was devoted to the service of the poor,’ PM Narendra Modi further added.
Gujarat’s CM Vijay Rupani Claims Benefits to Tribals
‘For us, the Statue of Unity is not just a sculpture. It exemplifies unity and the new lines will connect Kevadia to all junctions of the country,’ Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani said putting in that the new undertakings will also benefit in uplifting the lives of the tribals residing in Kevadia.
