Union Education Minister Announced the CBSE Board Exams 2021 Date
On Thursday, December 31, 2020, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank ended the millions of students’ wait. He announced the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class X and XII’s board exam dates. Through a virtual address, the Union Minister said that the class X and XII board exams would start from May 4 and keep on till June 10. Nishank said the results would be declared by July 15. He informed in his address about a 30 percent reduction in the CBSE curriculum.
The Education Minister said that the dates had been decided after consulting several parents, teachers, and students, keeping in mind the current pandemic time of difficulty. Earlier, he had said:
“After keeping their suggestions in mind and the circumstances in the future, on the eve of the new year on Thursday, we will announce dates of CBSE board Exam, and their confusion will be over.”
CBSE Board Exams 2021 Updates: What Does CBSE Notification Say About Exams?
On Thursday, December 31, the Controller of Examinations of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has notified, “As the situation due to COVID-19 pandemic being faced by the students/teachers and schools is unprecedented, CBSE, to ensure a conducive environment to students for the exams and based on the feedback and consultations with diverse stakeholders, has decided the following”.
- The Board examinations for class X and XII will commence on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
- Schools will conduct Practical/Project/Internal Assessment of Class X and Class XII from Monday the March 01, 2021, to the last date of conduct of theory examination.┬а
- CBSE will issue the Date Sheet of both Class X and XII soon.
- CBSE will update information related to exams from time to time and will make it available on the CBSE website https://cbse.nic.in/

CBSE Board Exams 2021 Updates: COVID-19 Protocols Will Be Followed
The Education Minister Pokhriyal emphasized that the examination will be held in adherence to Covid-19 protocols. He had said earlier that the CBSE board examination would not be held online. He said:
“Our communication with other ministries is going on continuously. Covid-19 has spread all over the world. During these difficulties, we have done a lot of work online, but our goal is to reach the last students. The idea is to conduct examinations in the same manner as examinations are conducted earlier, we are not considering to conduct exams online.”
