Rafael Nadal has claimed the most French Open titles, with 13 titles, which is also a record for any male or female player, in any one of the four significant tournaments. He also holds the record for the most successive and consecutive wins in the Open Era, with five from 2010 to 2014. ‘I am not dumb. It is still a relatively sad situation all around the globe. If you ask me what my impression is, of course, I am splendidly pleased. But I’m not as pleased as conventional because the circumstance is hard for the maximum number of people around the planet. I have won the competition, but I have not altered my thoughts. The circumstance is still unhappy. We are fortunate enough to play our game and to have a tour. This year has been a difficult one for everyone.’
