Chandigarh/Hisar, April 9, 2026: The prolonged legal battle of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj for truth and justice has reached another significant milestone today. The Punjab and Haryana High Court heard his final bail plea, and the approval of bail in FIR 428 is not merely a legal decision but a symbol of the triumph of truth.

Following the suspension of sentences in FIRs 429 and 430 last year, this bail further reinforces the timeless principle that truth ultimately prevails. Since 2014, enduring years of incarceration without conviction highlights the patience, resilience, and unwavering faith of an innocent saint. This landmark decision not only reinstates faith in Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj but also strengthens the belief of millions of followers who uphold that truth ultimately triumphs. Let us examine the details.

The hearing of Case No. CRM-M-57908-2025 was conducted in Courtroom No. 7 in Chandigarh before a division bench comprising Hon’ble Justice Gurvinder Singh Gill and Hon’ble Mrs. Justice Ramesh Kumari under URGENT:111.

As per the official court portal, on April 8, 2026, the bench declared the bail plea as “ALLOWED.” Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was represented by Advocate Arjun Sheoran (P-867-2011), while the State of Haryana was represented by the Advocate General (P-88-88).

According to court records, this is a criminal bail petition filed under the NIA Act, 2019. The CNR number is PHHC011619572025, registered on October 13, 2025. Earlier, on March 30, 2026, the matter was heard before a bench of Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi and Justice Deepak Manchanda, where an interim order was also passed.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was born on September 8, 1951, in Dhanana village, Gohana tehsil, Sonipat district, Haryana. After completing matriculation, He served as a junior engineer in the Haryana Irrigation Department for about 18 years. In 1988, He met Kabir Panthi Saint Swami Ramdevanand Ji Maharaj and received initiation. In 1994, He was permitted to deliver discourses and initiate followers. Thereafter, He resigned from His government job voluntarily and established Satlok Ashram at Karontha. Since then, He has guided millions toward spirituality, opposing idol worship, superstition, intoxication, meat consumption, dowry and many other social evils.

According to senior Hisar advocate Kuldeep, a total of 14 cases were registered against Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, out of which He has been acquitted in 11. This progression demonstrates that despite a prolonged journey, truth consistently prevailed.

On August 29, 2017, Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar of Hisar Court acquitted Him and His followers in FIRs 426 and 427. On May 1, 2018, He and two followers were acquitted in a fraud case related to property registration linked to Satlok Ashram land in Karontha village. On December 20, 2022, He was acquitted in the 2006 Karontha case. On July 26, 2021, He and four others were acquitted under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act due to lack of evidence.

In October 2018, the Hisar Sessions Court sentenced Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj to life imprisonment in FIRs 429 and 430, related to deaths during the 2014 Satlok Ashram standoff. On August 28, 2025, the Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed the sentence in FIR 430. Within days, the life sentence in FIR 429 was also suspended by a bench comprising Justice Gurvinder Singh Gill and Justice Deepinder Singh Nalwa.

The court observed that the prosecution’s evidence was “seriously questionable” and that it was unclear whether the deaths qualified as murder. Key witnesses, including family members of the deceased, attributed the deaths to police action. Additionally, factors such as His age (around 74 years), over 10 years of imprisonment, and bail granted to co-accused were considered.

FIR No. 428, dated November 18, 2014, registered at Barwala Police Station, Hisar, pertains to charges of sedition along with IPC, Arms Act, and PDPP Act provisions. Nearly 1,000 individuals were named in this FIR, most of whom have already been granted bail. With this latest development, it becomes evident that truth cannot be defeated.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj publicly challenged certain interpretations in Satyarth Prakash based on Vedic references, encouraging independent verification from readers. This led to discontent among sections of Arya Samaj. On July 12, 2006, a large mob attacked Satlok Ashram in Karontha, resulting in one death. Despite police inaction, charges were filed against Sant Rampal Ji, leading to His arrest. A demand for a CBI inquiry was not entertained, and He was granted bail in 2008.

In 2014, a contempt case was filed related to the Karontha matter. Due to health reasons, His non-appearance led to a non-bailable warrant. On November 17, 2014, the Haryana government initiated a barbaric action against Satlok Ashram, Barwala. Electricity and essential supplies were cut off. Devotees demanding a peaceful CBI inquiry faced forceful action, resulting in six deaths. Subsequently, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and 30 followers were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Hisar Session Court.

The media’s coverage of these incidents was widely perceived as one-sided. Peaceful protests were portrayed as violent, while police action received limited scrutiny. Comparisons with controversial figures were later withdrawn, with some media outlets issuing apologies.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is not only a spiritual leader but also a social reformer whose teachings have transformed millions of lives.

De-addiction Movement

Through His teachings, many followers have abandoned alcohol, tobacco, and drugs permanently, contributing to a drug-free society.

Dowry-Free Marriages

He introduced a simple marriage system called “Ramaini,” completed in just 17 minutes without dowry or extravagance. Hundreds of couples are married collectively during events like Kabir Prakat Diwas and many other annual events held at Satlok Ashrams globally, promoting equality beyond caste and religion.

Blood and Body Donation Camps

Regular blood donation drives are organized across Satlok Ashrams, with large-scale participation nationally and internationally. Thousands of followers have pledged body donation for medical education.

COVID-19 Relief Work

During the pandemic, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj through His followers arranged food, shelter, and essential supplies for stranded workers. Blood donation drives were also conducted to address shortages, and proposals were made to convert ashrams into COVID care centers.

Annapurna Muhim: Ensuring No One Sleeps Hungry

Annapurna Muhim, initiated under the guidance of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, is a humanitarian campaign aimed at eradicating hunger and supporting underprivileged families by providing free food and essential necessities. Through this initiative, devotees regularly distribute ration, cooked meals, clothing, and other basic needs to the poor, ensuring that no one in society remains deprived of the fundamental right to food. The campaign has brought a remarkable transformation in many communities by offering relief to struggling families, promoting compassion, and encouraging people to adopt the values of service and humanity.

Aid to Flood-Affected Farmers

In Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh Rajasthan, and nearby regions, where farmlands remained waterlogged for months, free pipes and heavy motors were provided across over 400 villages to drain water and restore cultivation. Villages such as Bhadana, Chuli Kalan, Premnagar, Gubhana, Majri, Meham, Khairampur  and others benefited significantly. This assistance, worth crores, was provided free of cost, earning widespread gratitude.

Additional Initiatives

Free dental care, eye check-ups and surgeries, ration distribution, gas cylinders, clothing, school fees, and housing assistance are provided under various initiatives. Relief work has also been carried out during floods in Bihar and landslides in Himachal Pradesh. Tree plantation drives across India and Nepal have also been undertaken.

Over a decade, successive acquittals and the suspension of sentences by the High Court demonstrate that justice endures. The court also acknowledged factors such as prolonged incarceration, and contradictions in witness statements as grounds for relief.

Today’s proceedings in the Punjab and Haryana High Court are emerging as a significant example within India’s judicial system—that even after prolonged struggles, truth finds its path. Amid numerous cases pending for years, these proceedings represent not just judicial delay but a profound test for humanity itself.

The teachings of Kabir Sahib aptly reflect this truth:

Kabir, Aur gyaan sab gyaandi, Kabir Gyaan so gyaan|

Jaise Gola Toab Ka, Karta chale maidan||

The acquittals, bail grants, suspension of sentences, growing number of followers, and continued social contributions collectively stand as evidence of this sacred verse. Today, as Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj emerges innocent after enduring nearly 12 long years of rigorous legal proceedings, the world stands witness to His unwavering resilience, and to the divine power of Supreme God Kabir that has steadily prevailed—proving His innocence despite a time when, twelve years ago, the entire world stood against Him. At such a moment, when this true spiritual knowledge is accessible through Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, it calls upon individuals to recognize it and give meaningful direction to their lives.
