Rhea Active Member of the Drug Syndicate
On Tuesday, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) claimed in its remand application to the court that Rhea is an active member of a drug syndicate connected with the drug supplies and was managing finance for drug procurement along with late Sushant Singh Rajput. NCB said Rhea accepted about her involvement in the procurement of drugs and giving instructions to her brother Showik Chakraborty, Dipesh Sawant, and Miranda. The court accepted the NCB plea and sent Rhea to 14-day judicial custody and rejected her lawyer’s bail plea.
Rhea and Showik Named 25 Bollywood Celebrities in Drug Dealing
Sources say Rhea and brother Showik disclosed about 25 Bollywood celebrities with possible links with the drug cartel. Rhea Chakraborty Arrested: Judicial custody of 14 days after an arrest
In a drug case involving the Sushant case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Rhea Chakraborty and produced her in the court on Tuesday. NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty on Tuesday after questioning for three days in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. After that, Rhea had a medical examination and was then produced before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Mumbai through video conferencing, where the court rejected Rhea’s bail plea and remanded her to judicial custody till September 22.
NCB Arrested Nine People so far in the Sushant Case
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Investigated the drug angle of the late actor’s death probe. It has so far resulted in the arrest of 9 people, including Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Abbas Lakhani, Abdel Basit Parihar, Samuel Miranda, Zaid Vilatra, Karan Arora, Dipesh Sawant and Kaizan Ebrahim. NCB booked all of them under sections 20, 27, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
The First Night had to Pass in the NCB’s Lockup
Now Rhea will have to spend the time in jail for 14 days because the court has remanded judicial custody for 14 days. Rhea Chakraborty had to spend the first night of judicial custody in the NCB’s lockup. It is because the jail manual does not allow the entry of a prisoner in the jail after completing the counting of prisoners. On Tuesday, Rhea passed the night in lockup in the NCB office and shifted to prison on Wednesday morning.
The Court Rejected Rhea’s Bail Plea and Remanded to Judicial Custody
The NCB claimed that she was an “active member” of the drug syndicate and obtained drugs for the actor. The court rejected Rhea’s bail plea and remanded her to judicial custody till September 22, as the NCB said that she does not need to be interrogated in custody anymore after questioning for three days. Rhea’s lawyer Satish Manshinde said he would go to the sessions court for bail.
Rhea Negative in Antigen Test for COVID-19
After the arrest, she was taken to the BMC-operated Sayan Hospital in central Mumbai by a vehicle for medical examination, including the COVID-19 investigation. She was in a black veneer. NCB officer and a woman police officer accompanied her.
NCB Satisfied After Questioning Rhea
NCB took Rhea to its office at around 9.15 pm and produced her before the court through video conference. Talking to media on Tuesday, Deputy Director-General, NCB, South West Region, Ashok Jain, said that the central agency had sufficient evidence to arrest her. However, NCB did not recover the drug from her.

He further said NCB does not need her to detain for questioning. However, Jain said the NCB would oppose the bail of any accused in the case. He said the people with whom NCB needs face to face interrogation are already in its custody. NCB was calling Rhea for questioning for the last three days and is satisfied after interrogating her.
NCB had Arrested Rhea’s Brother and Sushant’s Staff
The NCB had recently arrested her brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant’s manager Samuel Miranda and the late actor’s domestic assistant Dipesh Sawant on charges of supplying drugs. NCB confirmed about confession of Showik to facilitate the delivery of drugs through Kaizan, Basit, and Ziad and with full knowledge of Rhea in every delivery and payment.
In its remand application, NCB mentioned about confession of Samuel Miranda that Sushant and Rhea had also instructed him to procure drugs, and the two were dealing with financial matters. Dipesh Sawant accepted before NCB that he used to receive drugs for Rajput upon his instructions.
Rhea’s Lawyer Termed the Arrest as a Mockery of Justice
Rhea, aged 28, had recently denied in an interview with TV channels that she had consumed drugs. Her lawyer Satish Manshinde has termed her arrest as a complete mockery of justice. He said three central agencies are lying behind a woman, just because she loved with a person with intoxication and mental health problems.
Sushant’s Body Found at His Bandra Residence on June 14
The CBI investigation team had recently questioned the Actress Rhea, who is camping at the DRDO guest house in Mumbai’s western suburb of Santa Cruz. She was also interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a case of money laundering. Sushant’s body was found here on June 14 at his Bandra apartment.
